Maybe you’re just now getting your trip ironed out, or perhaps you are wide open or just traveling around and looking for your next adventure. These four attractions are a lot of fun and great places to visit when you’re in Austin TX.
Barton Springs Pool is first up, and its location is 2201 Barton Springs Road. The pool is natural limestone, and it is 1000 feet long. You can go swimming, and there is a diving board, too. This pool is fed by underground springs, and people even go fishing there. Knowing how hot Austin can get during the summer, it would be a nice place to take the family to cool off.
Speaking of bodies of water, Town Lake is a another great place of interest in Austin. Make your way down I-35 towards the Mopac Bridge. There are also walking trails in that area. You can rent a canoe or a rowboat, and people go paddle boarding there as well. This lake can get quite busy at times according to reviews. It’s a favorite for people in Austin wanting to get out on the water.
Are you going to plan to stop by the Texas State Capitol? It’s fitting since you’re in Austin. You know how they say everything is big in Texas? This Capitol Building is enormous. You will find it on Congress Avenue, and you can see it from afar. The building is gorgeous, and you can take a guided tour. Visit the gift shop, and enjoy learning about Texas history.
Congress Avenue and South Congress Avenue are definitely great spots to visit in Austin as well. You will find so many unique shops there, and the focus in that area is the whole motto that is catching on lately: Keep Austin Weird. Congress Avenue is a great place to find a good restaurant, too. The entire avenue is rather eclectic, so I guess you could say there is something for everyone.
